Learn to focus your images, and develop the eye for the perfect crop for each photo. Make better sense of your own camera, and understand the different types of digital cameras out there today so you’ll feel prepared for your next camera purchase or recommendation. You will develop and apply the concepts of composition, design, lighting, and aesthetics in photographic images. Get to use various tools of electronic image manipulation— selection tools, dodge-and-burn tools, brightness and contrast controls, filters, paint tools, cloning tools, sharpen and blur tools, and the smudge tool.
This is a studio class, including:
– weekly class, group and one-on-one critiques
– guided Photoshop exercises
– mini-lectures
– location shoot / field trip
– project development time
There are five primary projects in which 50% of your grade is assessed.
