I’m a multimedia artist, designer, consultant and educator based in southwestern Vermont. All facets of my work live under my company, delishdesign.
My areas of knowledge, education and deep interest include: Visual Communication and Marketing, Photography, Illustration, Print & Digital Design, Project Management & Budgeting, many Fine Arts.
I’ve worked with local companies from coffee roasters to libraries and landscapers, artists and country stores- I help build and cultivate their brands and develop their communication.
I’ve been a professor of Art & Design for the Community College of Vermont for over a decade now, deepening my understanding of these topics through educating others! I consult and design for the Long Trail School as well.
I seem to always have been focused on the topic of visual communication. Marketing and advertising is specifically creating and distributing that visual communication— and I’ve been creating from a really young age. My first official work might have been in my grandmother’s bakery windows. My first design internship was working in editorial design at The Washington Times. My first eight professional years were spent designing for The Orvis Company as retail design manager and graphic design supervisor. I’ve always been curious how many ways/perspectives you can “look” at a visual – how can others perceive the same information? Is there a change that could make it more memorable? How can I use that info to help others absorb visual information better?
