I have had a love of sari silk yarns for many years, it is handspan in Nepal from bright recycled saris, by women who are paid a fair wage… satisfying on every level. When the earthquake hit Nepal exactly two months ago, I thought on how I could best help- so I have decided to create a small auction of handmade pieces from the very sari silk handmade in Nepal!
My dear friend Andrea has graciously created a handful of circular infinity scarves from strips of sari silk, I have created a lace knit shawl, and a chair with the seat woven by hand with sari silk yarn. We hope to raise as much money as we can to donate on to Nepal, please share our little auction with those who may love handmade works of fiber art & heart – what better way to satisfy your desire to help 🙂
